blk. - Wegman’s, NJ
Blk. is a black bottled water. It is infused with fulvic acid, which causes the natural coloring you see above. There was a large display in the grocery store saying “try the dark side of water.” I love the color black, so this was right up my alley, but black water? Would it taste good?
The packaging is sleek and minimal. I love it. The bottle itself is actually clear. That’s right! The color you are seeing is the actual water itself! As you drink, black text becomes visible on the front of the bottle saying “ENJOY THE DARK SIDE.” Which is really neat.
The color itself is actually more of a cola color, in the light it looks like black coffee.
It tastes…just like normal spring water. There is a very slight charcoal-like aftertaste, but it is very minimal. That slight taste is not enough to ever prevent me from drinking the rest of the bottle.
I really like the design and overall idea behind this water, but it tastes like normal bottled water. The fulvic acid is supposed to help balance ph levels but, unless I am missing something, I don’t think I really need it. I think this is (sadly) a one trick pony. Once you aren’t wowed by the idea of drinking black water…I don’t think you’d really want to buy it again.
This beverage was well designed, interesting, and refreshing. It’s worth trying just once.
