Yummy Earth Vitamin C lollipops - Home Goods: Moorestown, NJ

Here is another Yummy Earth lollipop, Razzmatazz Berry!
Again, since the packaging is typical for lollipops, I’m skipping right to the candy. (I’ll be skipping this for the rest of the flavors too.) The only thing I will add is that there are 4 different “red” flavors. So if you’re looking for a specific one it might get a bit frustrating.
This lollipop is a solid red, berry, color. I thought it was odd that this flavor doesn’t have the circular indentation that the mango pop had. Maybe they aren’t all processed the same way?
The lollipop smells sweet, there are a few floral notes, but overall it reminds me of raspberry jam.
Overall, the flavor is more like a mixed berry jam than a raspberry. I don’t get too many raspberry notes, and the overall flavor is a lot weaker than the mango lollipop I had the other day. Again, the addition of Vitamin C added a bit of sourness, but I find a lot of raspberries to be tart, so this helped make the mild flavor more authentic.
I actually preferred the mango flavor over this one, but Razzamataz Berry is still better than a lot of other lollipops I have had.

Yummy Earth Vitamin C lollipops - Home Goods: Moorestown, NJ

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I teach art and Spanish at a local daycare (kids ages 2.5-5 years.) Well this semester I am also observing a 3rd grade classroom for my teacher certification. This means that I have a LOT of Valentines this year. So I put together a little goodie bag for each one of them.
One of the candies I am handing out to my little learners are these Yummy Earth lollipops.
This is just a teaser post for now, because there are 8 flavors that I’ll be breaking up into seperate reviews and posting throughout the week.
For now, enjoy the eye candy!

Lollipop (cherry) - The Candy Store for Target

Big lollipops remind me of childhood. I remember getting them at fairs and on the boardwalks. I saw this at Target and bought it on a whim (it helped that it was in the clearance aisle.)

Clearance candy is very hit or miss, much more so that other candy purchases I have made. Is it on sale because it sucks? Lets find out.

First off, this thing looks like a photo prop. It is HUGE. Visually it is very appealing, it is a nice cherry red color and has a dusting of ‘icing’ on the swirl pattern to make it stand out.

I pulled the ribbon to remove the wrapping…and it was shrink wrapped inside. This ensures freshness, but it was HORRIBLE to get this thing open. It took me carving away at shrink plastic with a knife to get this sucker (see what I did there?) open. So much packing and plastic went into making sure this candy was fresher than fresh. That must be a good sign, right? Either way, this is not a candy to buy and eat on the spot, unless you carry a knife with you (and I know a lot of people who do.)

Once free of the plastic prison it filled the room with a wonderful burnt sugar smell.

I ave it a try and…it tastes nothing like cherry. Not artificial cherry, not real cherry….just sugar. It tastes like I am just eating a large sugar disk.

This lollipop would make a neat prop for photos…but as far as candy goes I will never crave or want it again. I only made it half way through the pop (which felt like a chore) and then I gave up. I hate wasting candy, but I couldn’t bring myself to finish this thing.
