EGO Little Golden Bear (Honeydew) - Chinatown, PA
I have tried Meiji’s Pandas and Lotte’s Koalas, but I had never heard of Little Golden Bear. The box features a koala, but the cookies pictured look more like little teddy bears. I was going to pass on these at first, but then I saw that the cookies had a honeydew flavored filling! This is a rare flavoring here in America, so I decided to give these a try.
The colors on the box are muted melon tones, oranges, greens, and beige. I don’t think that the overall design is amazing, but it is pleasant to look at. The box is bigger than Meiji’s or Lotte’s, and inside are individual packets of cookies.
Inside each packet are several little cookies, each with a different kind of cartoon bear. They range from koalas-to-bears, with some resembling Winnie the Pooh.
The first thing that happens when you open the bag is that you’re hit with a strong honeydew scent! (Similar to the flavor of honeydew gelato.)
I popped a cookie into the mouth and I noticed these aren’t as crunchy as Meiji or Lotte, so they actually taste a little stale. The filling is a honeydew flavored white chocolate. The cookies are sweet, a little buttery, and soft.
I love honeydew flavoring, so I think these are a really great cookie. I love that they come in individual packets, this way I can easily share with others and prevent myself from eating the whole box.
If you like melon, I think these cookie give you a great melon flavor.
