Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts- Target : Cherry Hill, NJ

Finally, something that wasn’t fro Aldi! I have actually been trying to get my hands on these Pop-Tarts for YEARS! They came out every fall but everywhere I went, they were sold out. I finally got a box this year at Target (One of the 4 boxes left on the shelf.)

The box and foil bags are the same as any other Pop-Tart item. It shows a photo of the flavor on the box, bright colors, seasonal information. The only difference is that this box has a recipe on the back where you turn these Pop-Tarts into little turkeys using candy corn and icing.

Right out of the wrapper, these smelled just like the brown sugar Pop-Tarts that my mother loves. I couldn’t really smell any hint of pumpkin pie at all.

The icing is white and it is coated with little sprinkles of fall colors. Inside, the filling looks like pumpkin pie filling, and it smells like the brown sugar Pop-Tarts mixed with pumpkin pie spices.

They really taste a lot like they smell. If you like the brown sugar variety, you’ll love these!

Although they are yummy, they aren’t super pumpkin-y.

On a pumpkin-y scale of 1-5 (5 being extremely pumpkin-y) I would rate this a 2.

Pumpkin Pie Bagel- Panera : Cherry Hill, NJ

Pumpkin for breakfast! This fall Panera has added a new pumpkin pie flavored bagel to their menu. They also brought back the cherry vanilla bagel that is released every October. The cherry vanilla is one of my favorite bagels ever and usually it is made into the shape of a breast cancer ribbon. (It is usually promoted as such and money goes towards charities.)

This bagel is entirely new, and I am surprised they haven’t made it sooner!

The Panera description for this bagel is:

Pumpkin Pie Bagel
  • NEW! Freshly baked bagel featuring pumpkin and spice with a crumb topping and cinnamon sugar mixture, sprinkled with powdered sugar

Untoasted, it smells like a sweet pumpkin bread. You can smell the cinnamon and other pumpkin pie spices, and the topping reminds me of a cobbler. It tastes doughy and sweet, and it is a lot like eating a delicious dense pumpkin-pie flavored bread.

Toasted, it made my whole kitchen smell like pumpkin and snickerdoodles. (Must have been the cinnamon.) I wish they made candles with this scent! It was a wonderful way to start October. I added a bit of butter to the toasted bagel, and it was delicious!

It doesn’t taste exactly like pumpkin pie, more like a pumpkin spiced pound cake, but that makes sense with the consistency of a bagel.

On a pumpkin-y scale of 1-5 (5 being extremely pumpkin-y) I would rate this a 3.5

French Vanilla with Strawberries - Red Mango, Cherry Hill Mall

After trying a lot of frozen yogurts I decided to try Red Mango in the mall. The kiosk is smaller than the other yogurt places I have been to, but frozen yogurt is frozen yogurt.
Being smaller, there was a lot less selection, so I decided to get the French Vanilla with some diced strawberries.
The vanilla frozen yogurt was nice a tart, like yogurt should be, and it mixed well with the sweet berries. The berries were nice and ripe too, which is rare for most topping bars. I never get fresh fruit that is ripe!
I really liked Red Mango, more than Kiwi, and I would definitely choose it over Sweet Frog.

Mr. Stacks Peach Schnapps -Total Wine in Cherry Hill, NJ
Peach Schnapps is something I had seen a lot in movies and television (subliminal advertising works!) One of the most prominent movie moments that mentions this product was in the film The Virgin Suicides, “Peach Schnapps, babes love it.”
I love the movie, so I wanted to give this a try.
The bottle is plastic and clear. I like it when they have images of food and fruits on the bottles, but I don’t think this is a bottle I will hang on to.
When you twist off the cap the first thing you notice is the smell of gummy peach rings! I wish it was a perfume so I could wear it every day! (I love food and candy smells.)
As you taste it, the first initial flavor is sweet peachy candy…but that gives way to a decent alcohol taste and burn. Not bad. My aunt says I need to try making fuzzy navels with it, if I do I’ll post a photo, recipe and review for that.
If you like peach gummy rings and don’t like very strong alcohol, I would pick up a little bottle of this. I enjoyed it, but I don’t think I’ll be needing the bigger bottle. This little airplane-sized one will last me a while.

Original Mothers Sweet Tea -Total Wine in Cherry Hill, NJ

My sister kept talking about a drink she had at a party, sweet tea vodka mixed with lemonade, so I got curious about sweet tea flavored vodka. When I saw this little airplane sized bottle at Cherry Hill’s Total Wine shop I couldn’t resist giving it a try.
The bottle is plastic, and the overall label design has a southern feel to it, but visually this little bottle isn’t anything to write home about. (Then again when you have a tiny glass skull bottle…it’s hard to compete!)
When you unscrew the cap it initially smells like vodka, but it slowly changes into a vanilla tea-like aroma.
At first sip, it tastes like tea, but not fresh brewed sweet tea. The taste is very similar to the sweet tea water ice flavor they had at Rita’s (it was a limited flavor.)   It sweet and a little different, mixed with lemonade it is pretty darn tasty.
If you are a huge fan of sweet teas, then give this little bottle a go. So far I don’t see any reason to invest in a full sized version.
